Judge Desirée Dyess was born on October 16, 1975. She earned her undergraduate degree with honors from Northwestern State University, and her Juris Doctorate from the LSU School of Law.
She trained in Mediation for Family Law at Loyola University, and has been a Board Certified Family Law Specialist by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization since 2007.
She was a partner at the Dyess Law Firm for 14 years, and was admitted to practice before all Louisiana State and Federal Courts, the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court.
Judge Dyess is a Charter member and Past President of St. Denis American Inns of Court, and served on the boards of CASA, Northwestern State University Foundation, Friends of the Louisiana Sports & History Museum, Kiwanis Club, Northwestern State University Symphony Society, Old Courthouse Museum, Association for the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches, Natchitoches Chamber of Commerce and Historic District Business Association, Natchitoches and Louisiana Associations of Business & Professional Women, and the Service League of Natchitoches. She is also an alumni member of Les Amis Service Organization and PEO Chapter AU.
Judge Dyess is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and Natchitoches Parish Bar Association. She has been recognized as Attorney of the Year, Natchitoches Pro Bono, and has received the Access to Justice Award and the Crystal Gavel Award from the Louisiana State Bar Association.
She is married to William D. Dyess and is a member of First Baptist Church of Natchitoches.
